ملخصDental caries is a common and major public health oral disease which hampers the attainment and protection of oral health in different age groups , microorganisms are the super bug agent responsible for causing dental caries . many facultatively and obligately anaerobic bacteria dominate the microbial community of dental caries . but, the most important etiological agent of dental caries is Streptococcus mutans . تسوس الأسنان هو أحد أمراض الفم الشائعة والرئيسية التي تصيب الفم بالصحة العامة والتي تعيق تحقيق وحماية صحة الفم في مختلف الفئات العمرية ، والكائنات الحية الدقيقة هي العامل الخارق المسؤول عن التسبب في تسوس الأسنان. تهيمن العديد من البكتيريا اللاهوائية اختياريًا وإلزامًا على المجتمع الميكروبي لتسوس الأسنان. لكن العامل المسبب للمرض الأكثر أهمية في تسوس الأسنان هو Streptococcus mutans.
