An awareness seminar at Al-Rasheed University College on the dangers of drugs and ways to prevent them
Al-Rasheed University College held an awareness seminar in coordination between the Center for Development and Continuing Education and the Department of Law, which addressed the dangers of drugs and ways to prevent them, in the presence of a number of professors and students.
The seminar was delivered by Assistant Professor Qasim Turki Al-Janabi and Assistant Professor Ali Raed Fawzi, where they addressed the danger of the spread of drugs and their destructive impact on health and society, stressing that it is "a phenomenon that threatens health and social security", especially among young people and university students, due to its negative impact on "academic achievement and general behavior".
The two lecturers also reviewed the efforts of the Iraqi legislator in combating this phenomenon through the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017, which aims to limit the spread of drugs and punish their promoters, while emphasizing the importance of the role of educational institutions in spreading awareness among students to protect them from this dangerous scourge.
